Edited for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and Isaiah T. Creswell Middle School of the Performing and Visual Arts partnered together to support students as they created a documentary about their experience and understanding of this extraordinary magnet school. TPAC teaching artist Jon Royal and Creswell theatre teacher Caroline Barnard mentored a group of students who planned the arc of their film storyline, devised its filming schedule, and operated the high-end cameras and lighting gear themselves. They embraced the complex creative and practical elements required in any artistic endeavor and thrived with the challenge. The film served as a whole school arts integration project as well, with all Creswell students and teachers participating in multiple ways.
Film Crew Technology (FCT) had the pleasure of working with Chance McCoy, formerly of Old Crew Medicine Show, on one of his singles, "Sugar Babe. Shot live at The Basement" in Nashville, TN. This video intercuts the performance footage with that of a young lady considering her options. Although David Smith is the director and editor, this project was produced and crewed entirely by Film Crew Technology students.
