David Smith is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and photographer. His work in commercial video production has earned him two corporate top-honor awards from KINKO's and The Bridgestone Group, as well as three Telly Awards for his work with the Tennessee Center for Child Welfare. His narrative short films, Brainchild and Take One Tablet, have played numerous festivals in the southeast US (where he lives). His scripts, Ghost Light and The Acolyte, have won numerous awards. His first paid film production gig was in 1983 when he was as freshman in college. He was an un-credited local (Nashville) Production Assistant for the film Starman, starring Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen.
